Formerly Language Arts 1100. Content is the same as the Language Arts 1100 course and some components may be labeled as Language Arts.
This ten-LightUnit, one-credit course teaches composition and literature study skills.
Teacher’s materials include LightUnit overviews, a book list for writers, a scope and sequence of the course, alternate LightUnit tests, and a comprehensive index.

LU4 – Writing Short Stories
LU5 – Writing Poetry
LU6 – Research
LU7 – Understanding Words
LU8 – Listening and Reading Skills

LU10 – Reading and Thinking
Each LightUnit contains sixteen lessons, two quizzes and a test, and can be completed in about three weeks.
