Instructions
Each lesson has a “materials needed” list. Look ahead and buy these materials before class (see complete list below). We strongly recommend that you, the teacher, either do the lesson before hand to present an example, or do one with the student as he works, to show him how. You will need an extra Artpac to do this, but it is well worth the investment.
Artpac 5 includes instruction in the following art skills:
- Advanced shading using soft lead color pencils
- Grid drawing
- Accurate enlargements with a grid
- Accurate reductions with a grid
- Letter layout and spacing
- Watercolor painting
- Color mixing and blending
- Drawing faces
- Free hand drawing, beginning with simple shapes and adding detail
Materials Needed
- colored pencils (good brands are Crayola and Prismacolor)
- marker (fine-tipped black)
- artist brush (small, medium-small, large)
- paint (red, yellow, blue, black, white)
- watercolors (magenta, cyan, yellow, black, white), liquid paint recommended
- coarse sponge
- jar lids (large)
- pencil
- ruler (including one with a metal edge)
- glue
- iron
- tape
- scissors
- eraser
- razor blade or craft knife
- cutting mat (such as cardboard)
- watercolor paper
- copier paper (white)
- construction paper (red, blue, white, pastel, various)
