Instructions

Each lesson has a “materials needed” list. Look ahead and buy these materials before class (see complete list below). We strongly recommend that you, the teacher, either do the lesson before hand to present an example, or do one with the student as he works, to show him how. You will need an extra Artpac to do this, but it is well worth the investment.

Artpac 4 includes instruction in the following art skills:

• Shading to help things look more three dimensional
• Converting stick figures to more complete drawings
• Illustrating a small booklet
• Tracing
• Grid drawing
• Making greeting cards
• Perspective drawing
• Free hand drawing, beginning with simple shapes and adding detail

• colored pencils (good brands are Crayola, Prismacolor, Berol)
• marker (fine-tipped black)
• pens, felt-tip (optional)
• pen (black)
• food coloring (red)
• artist’s paint brushes
• jar lids
• pencil
• ruler
• glue
• glue stick
• tape
• stapler
• scissors
• eraser
• toothpicks
• sesame seeds
• cotton ball
• envelope (#10)
• copier paper (white)
• construction paper (yellow, contrasting, various)
